A new general plan of Moscow will prepare after the contest to the concept of development of the metropolitan area

Moscow authorities after the contest to the concept of development of metropolitan area, announced in January, will develop a new master plan of the city, which will be bound in the southwest of Moscow, said Tuesday in an interview with RIA Novosti, Alexander Kuzmin, Chief Architect of the capital.

Previously representative Moskomarhitektury RIA News that the Moscow authorities announced a contest for the design concept of the Moscow metropolitan area. According to the regulations of the competition, the final deadline for acceptance of applications for participation in it-13 February. As pointed out by Kuzmin in conversation with the Agency, it is not an update of the current general plan of Moscow until 2025, adopted, in spite of protests by the public in 2010, when the city was Yuri Luzhkov.

Chapter Moskomarhitektury recalled that the master plan is usually developed for 25-30 years.

According to him, most likely the entire year 2013 will focus on development of new chief town planning document.

Federation Council of Russia on December 27 approved a change in the borders of Moscow and Moscow region, according to which capital will get 148 thousand hectares of new territories.
