Asphalt sidewalks within the Garden will be replaced with tiles in 2011

Nearly 4 million square meters of asphalt pavement within the Garden Ring in Moscow will be replaced with paving tiles in 2011, said Friday the deputy mayor for housing and slum Peter Biryukov.

Earlier, the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin ordered to allocate additional funds to clean up the sidewalks of Moscow. He noted that about 90% of the pavement is covered with asphalt, it melts in summer, autumn has unpresentable form. According Biryukova, total 17.5 million square meters of sidewalks in the city is covered with asphalt.

"We are now preparing a pilot project to within the Garden Ring in this year's 4 million square meters of pavement to do with the cover (pavement tiles)," - said Biryukov at the operational meeting in the Moscow City Hall.

Mayor of Moscow, in turn, noted that the work should be carried out qualitatively and without marriage.

Earlier, Luzhkov said that contractors admitting violations in the repair of roads in Moscow, waiting for penalties.
