Excavations on Triumph Square in Moscow is scheduled for completion by year's end

Archaeological excavations on Triumph Square in Minsk to be completed by the end of 2011, told reporters on Thursday, the chief archaeologist of Moscow Leonid Kondrashov.

The so-called rescue excavations on Triumph Square, held in conjunction with the construction of underground parking for 5.5 thousand vehicles in the reconstruction program of the "Big Leningradka" from the Manege Square to the Moscow Ring Road.

"I think by the end of this year we are in any case will end," - said Kondrashov.

Responding to a question about whether to stay in force plans to build on Triumph Square underground parking, he said that he was not aware that these plans somehow changed.

However, Kondrashov said that after construction began, archaeologists will be responsible for carrying out work to, if the builders will find items of value for archaeological record and transmit their position in the museum.

Excavations on Triumph Square in Moscow, where he regularly held unsanctioned opposition rally began in late September 2010.

At this point, since the XVIII century, there were triumphal arches, building customs and guardhouse, passed Earthen wall of the city, stood the house of drivers. Archaeologists previously have found there are more than 100 items of different eras, including the Dutch pipes, women's jewelry and coins.
