Greenpeace activists say illegal intentions of the Moscow authorities to build a highway through the double Shchelkovsky National Park "Moose Island", Metropolitan Department of Natural Resources and Environment said that the decision to build the route is still pending.

According to Greenpeace, the Moscow City Council approved the concept of the Eastern administrative district in the years 2012-2016, which envisages the construction of trails through the natural national park "Elk Island." According to this concept of the park will be cut off strip length of 1 km and a width of about 250 meters.

National Park "Moose Island" was created in Moscow and Moscow region in August 1983. National Park area is 12.9 thousand hectares. On the territory of "moose island" inhabited by 180 species of birds, 45 mammals, 18 species of fish, 11 amphibian species and 4 species of reptiles.
