Halabyan-Baltic tunnel in Moscow will be ready by the end of 2011

Halabyan-Baltic tunnel to the north of Moscow, whose construction is provided for the project "Big Leningradka", will be operational by the end of 2011, told reporters on Friday the Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov.

The "Big Leningradka" includes road reconstruction and building on Tverskaya street, Leningrad Prospekt, Leningrad highway and three areas - Pushkinskaya, Tverskaya Zastava and Triumph. According to the plan of reconstruction, the road from the capital to become fully MKAD bessvetofornoy. The project "Big Leningradka" y "Falcon" will be created multilevel interchange. In addition Halabyan-Baltic, there is built Volokolamsky tunnel. The project started in 2006.

"This is a unique work, from the engineering point of view of the higher level of complexity. It should be a great road tunnel pass under existing subway lines" - said the mayor inspected the construction site of the tunnel.

He explained that the tunnel includes two tunnels.

"One, we introduce in late February 2011", - Luzhkov said.

According to him, the second part of the tunnel is planned to introduce by the end of 2011.
