In earthquake-prone regions to build low-rise housing-Shuvalov

First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Igor Shuvalov, having on Tuesday with the construction of a new neighbourhood of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, constructed on a programme of resettlement of nesejsmostojkogo housing, suggested construction of low-rise housing in Kamchatka and other earthquake-prone regions, RIA Novosti correspondent.

Shuvalov commended the quality of finishing of apartments and the appearance of a new neighbourhood, but noted the high cost of one square meter, which is today under the importation of building materials to the peninsula 62 thousand rubles.

First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia noted that provided sufficient for the construction of space construction of low-rise buildings-the most secure in the seismically unstable zone.

"When allocating funding (federal budget) should be built apartment houses",-said Igor Shuvalov.

Large-scale construction of earthquake-proof housing began in the Kamchatka peninsula in the fall of 2010, after the Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin has developed a programme to improve the sustainability of residential houses. At the end of 2010, the only performer on the programme was appointed FEDERAL GUS "Dalspecstroj". The construction of a new neighbourhood on 17 houses contractors completed in November 2011. All the keys to new apartments in the neighbourhood will receive nearly 770 families. The second part of the district on the North-East highway in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky envisages the construction of 14 houses at 667 apartments with total area of 35.8 thousand square meters and a kindergarten at 260 seats. In total, the construction of a new neighbourhood there were more than 2.5 billion roubles. Most of the money came from the federal budget.
