Only 6% of asphalt pavement in the center of Moscow to replace the tile in 2011

Moscow authorities intend in 2011 to replace the tiles only 6% of asphalt pavement on the sidewalks in the city center, told reporters on Wednesday, Deputy Mayor for Housing and Public Works Peter Biryukov.

Earlier, the mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin ordered to allocate additional funds to clean up the sidewalks of Moscow. He noted that about 90% of the sidewalks are covered with asphalt, which melts in summer and autumn has unpresentable form. Nearly 4 million square meters of asphalt pavement within the Garden Ring to be replaced by paving tiles in 2011.

"We'll replace a few, only 6 percent this year, the rest of the work will remain for future years" - said Biryukov.

According to him, the replacement of asphalt on the tiles is done in order "to increase the longevity of a coating.

"Warranty Period asphalt - seven years and life tile - in 2,5 times more," - said zammera.

He noted that currently being worked out design and engineering solutions of these works. "The experiment in this year's show how it will be convenient," - added Biryukov.
