Sobyanin intends to allocate funds for the remediation of sidewalks in Moscow

Mayor of Moscow, Sergei Sobyanin plans to allocate additional funds to improve the condition of sidewalks in the city.

Sobyanin pays special attention to the improvement of the city, before he was ordered to arrange the yards and porches. Prior to September 1, 2011 must be put in order all capital yards and every third staircase in Moscow. The city has allocated in 2011, 9.4 billion rubles for the landscaping of yards and 2.6 billion rubles - to repair porches.

"We need to allocate additional funds for the improvement of sidewalks. We have about 90% of the pavement is covered with asphalt, it melts in summer, autumn has unpresentable form. Give your suggestions for improving the coating of pavement," - said Sobyanin on Friday at an operational meeting in City Hall.

He added that the sidewalks in Moscow "should not be interrupted."

"And sometimes the people themselves are paving their own paths, the so-called people's paths", - said the capital's mayor.

In turn, the deputy mayor for housing and slum Peter Biryukov said that 17.5 million square meters of sidewalks in the city is covered with asphalt.
