South Korean companies are interested in the construction of the APEC Summit 2012

The Government of the Republic of Korea is very interested in the participation of Korean companies in the construction of APEC-2012 summit, said at a press conference on Tuesday in Vladivostok, Deputy Minister of Trade and Investment South Korean Kwon Tae-Kyung.

Press conference with his participation was held after the opening on Tuesday in Vladivostok Korean support center for business cooperation with Siberia and Far East, whose activities will be monitored information on the most promising investment projects of the East of Russia and the preparation for their implementation.

"The planned investment in the preparation of the capital of Primorye for the APEC summit would amount to 12 billion dollars. In this connection, that will actively develop infrastructure in Vladivostok, Korean construction companies would like to participate in the global construction," - said South Korean Deputy Finance Minister.

According to him, as the APEC forum in 2005 was held in South Korean city of Busan, the companies that participated in the construction sites of the summit, ready to share experience with Vladivostok in the organization of this important event.

As stressed by Kwon, the Russian side also needs to cooperate with foreign companies in the provision of services of hotels and accommodation of the highest quality.

"We know that in connection with the opening of the forum will need about 10 thousand hotel rooms. SEOUL Lotte Hotel has built in Moscow shopping mall and a hotel. At present, the possibility of building hotels and eastern Russia," - he added.

According to him, at the time of the APEC summit in Vladivostok will be the economic center of the Far East. Moreover, it will take a central place in the field of economic cooperation between the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, said Kwon Tae-Kyung.

Korean support center development in Siberia and the Far East is based on a non-profit governmental organization - the Korean Agency for Trade and Investment.

The impetus for the opening of the center was the growing interest of business circles of the Republic of Korea to the regions of the Far East and Siberia. In this regard, the Korean government has decided to extend full cooperation between the eastern regions of Russia and South Korea.
