...The existing suspension bridge over the River Katun River near the village of Platovo was built in the late 1990 's. It provides a link between the Soviet district of Altai Krai and Altai Republic areas. In a survey of the bridge in 2004, experts from the scientific and production association "Diamos" found that the unsatisfactory technical condition of the bridge is a real threat than the movement of vehicles. According to the Ministry of regional development of the Altai Republic, currently travel trucks weighing over 3 tons on the bridge is prohibited....
